Inspiring males from throughout West Northants have been recognised at the West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) Male Part Model Awards, which took area on Friday 18 November.

The awards, now in their 4th 12 months, celebrate men and women who go above and past in their day by day life to enable other individuals and make a genuine difference in their communities.

It was a tough final decision for the judges with so lots of inspiring nominees, but Lee Willis was named winner of the ‘Inspirational Man’ award next several nominations for his perform as an ‘inspirational, caring, client and enthusiastic’ karate teacher.

Lee acquired several nominations with 1 saying: “Lee is a excellent job model to all of his karate college students. He has countless enthusiasm and energy which helps make the teaching enjoyable and encourages the college students to maintain striving.

“He talks to the students about issues that he and other individuals have done to boost their expertise which inspires and encourages them and talks about complications he has experienced in schooling at various levels, so they fully grasp it did not normally occur easily even for their teacher.

“He teaches the young college students important lifestyle abilities these types of as stranger awareness, anti-bullying and building self esteem and assertiveness, and inspires and encourages all of his pupils to try to accomplish the very best that they can.”

In addition to the ‘Inspirational Man’ award, a ‘Special Recognition’ award was presented to Emergency Expert services Cadet volunteer Edward Harvey.

At the age of 20, Edward used for a Youth Engagement Guidance Officer purpose within just Northamptonshire Hearth and Rescue Service and has given that supported and mentored younger cadets.

Edward delivers educational periods to support lower anti-social conduct as nicely as bespoke interventions to assist younger people with adverse childhood encounters to establish self-assurance, raise small self-esteem and be the finest they can be. His nominator reported: “He genuinely does make a big difference to the local community.”
